IMF MAKES GOOD TIES WITH MOLDOVA CONDITIONAL UPON REFORMS'
CONTINUATION AND MAINTENANCE OF POLITICAL STABILITY

Chisinau, Dec 13 /Moldpres/ - The relations with the
International Monatary Fund do not depend on the coming to power
of specific personalities or political formations in Moldova, but
on the continuation of the reforms and ensurance of political
stability, IMF Resident Representative in Moldova Hassan
Al-Atrash said.
Hassan Al-Atrash underscored that it does not matter for the
IMF who mamely will be the country's president or premier, in
case the economic policies promoted in Moldova are good.
The source stressed, however, that a possible ceasing or
inversion of the course of reforms, as well as non-fulmilment by
Moldova of the provisions of the collaboration memorandum with
the IMF would lead to the suspension of the financing by the Fund.
According to Al-Atrash, under these circumstances, Moldova would
run the risk of losing the financing from other foreign
financiers as well.
According to the IMF's estimations, in case undesirable
changes in the country's policy do not occur, the Republic of
Moldova might obtain financial assistance worth USD 42 mln, of
which a credit of USD 12 mln from the IMF, USD 20 mln from the
World Bank, and a non-refundable assistance worth USD 10 mln from
the Dutch Cabinet. In the 2001 year, Moldova could expect a
foreign financial assistance of about USD 100 mln in all, Hassan
Al-Atrash also said.

FMI CONDITIONEAZA BUNELE RELATII CU MOLDOVA DE
CONTINUAREA REFORMELOR SI MENTINEREA
STABILITATII POLITICE

Chisinau, 13 dec. /MOLDPRES/. Relatiile Fondului Monetar
in Moldova, Hassan Al-Atrash.

presedintele tarii sau prim-ministru, in cazul in care

partea fondului. In opinia lui Hassan Al-Atrash, in aceste
altor finantatori externi.

Potrivit estimarilor FMI, in cazul in care nu vor interveni
schimbari nedorite in politica tarii, Republica Moldova ar
In 2001
Moldova ar putea miza, in total, pe o asistenta financiara
externa de circa 100 mln dolari SUA, a opinat Hassan Al-Atrash.
